Tricia Zifchak Rocks the 100 Mile Club

Many know Tricia Zifchak as the smiling face that greets you at Forrestdale School or as a Door Monitor for youth basketball. When she is not in the friendly confines of Forrestdale, she can be seen tearing it up on the roads of Rumson.

Tricia is a daily runner. She fell in love with the sport when she turned 40. Treadmill running with her than 4-year old son nearby led to mile walking/running intervals. She later progressed to half marathons and now runs five miles every morning.

Being a morning running keeps her sharp and prepared for the day ahead, as she notes “I never miss a run because it makes me feel like I have accomplished something early in the day”. She also uses it to “clear her head” and organize the day’s to-do list.

She never lets little things like rain, sleet or snow get in the way of her running. Her advice to others is excellent as she encouragingly states “I started my running career late in life, so it just shows you it is never to late to try anything you set your mind to”.

Although the Rumson 100 Mile Club is very prestigious, it is certainly not exclusive. The Rumson 100 Mile Club welcomes all members, you just have to earn your way in. All you need to do is enjoy our parks, track your miles (via app or on paper) and show us at the Rec Dept. More information is available at https://www.rumsonrecreation.org/100mileclub & you can join our group on Strava @RumsonRec.
