RFH ROWING 

 

RFH Rowing, established in 2006, provides the opportunity for boys and girls in grades 9 - 12 to join almost 3,000 area teens currently competing in the one of the fastest growing sports in New Jersey and the United States. The program provides experienced coaches, rowing instruction, fitness training, and competitive scholastic racing for student-athletes of Rumson and Fair Haven, New Jersey.

 

The program receives help from the RFH Parent Booster Club with equipment purchases as well as help to offset programs costs.

There are 4 distinct seasons for rowing all of which are managed by the Rumson Recreation Department.

SPRING

The spring is the most competitive season of the year. During this time of year the program is considered a club at RFH High School and will compete in at least 7 scholastic regattas through out the northeastern United States. The season starts in March and is over by beginning of June.  

SUMMER

The summer is time for recuperation from the long spring season as well as getting the newest participants up to speed for the fall season. In the summer months there are no competitions. 

FALL

The fall is the 2nd most competitive season of the year. During this time of year the program will compete in at least 5 club regattas through out the northeastern United States.

WINTER

This time of year is to ramp up the conditioning with indoor training. Training consists of rowing machine work, weight room activities and water tank training.
