The RFH 7th/8th grade girls won a game for the ages last night under the lights at the Capelli Sport Complex vs. Little Sliver 10-9 in OT.
The “Golden Goal” was scored in dramatic fashion as Reese Lydon sent home the game winning goal, finishing the perfect pass from Aly Megaw who earned a key ground ball with one min left.
The girls were truly impressive (Hannah, Ava and Chase!) and never gave up despite being down 4-0 early on in the game.
Also, the girls were taking pride and getting fired up in the fact that they beat the three teams they lost to during the regular season – Wall, Shore and Little Sliver on the way to the Championship. Their final record was 11-3 with 138 goals scored vs. 86 given up.
Special shout-out to our 8th grade girls that have ended their youth lax careers on a high note! Best of luck as you move on to hopefully continue in the sport.

Also, a very big and extra thank you to the Kiernan Girls! Sydney is our outstanding 7th grade goalie and played in every game – we are super lucky and grateful for her commitment to the team, program and the sport. Her sister Mack was also very helpful to us as Junior on the RFH Girls HS team – she brought tremendous energy and insights to the girls (and parent coaches!) which we are grateful and appreciative.
Thank you to all the parents that helped us out during the season – extra thanks to Kate, Meredith, Kris and Lindsay – its takes a village! Amazing job by superstar coach and all around good guy George Spiropoulos for his efforts throughout the season as well.
